Okay, a great number of people won’t eat a dehydrated potato because they are terrified of eating too many carbs. But enough with all this anti-carb propaganda! You have been lied to by the diet industry and that dehydrated potato is not your avowed enemy!

Contrary to a lot of the nonsense out there, carbohydrates are not really that bad for you; and if you are involved in any performance sport or hobby, activity or even profession that requires a lot of physical movement, carbs are one hundred percent essential!

Bad carbs are generally those simple sugars and processed sugars that one finds in soda, candy bars and their ilk. That is low grade, high calorie junk that makes you moody, depressed and overweight. Good carbs like whole grains, vegetables and fruits are a huge plus to the body.

The potato is a carb that gets a bad rap because it can put weight on you if you overeat a potato heavy diet. But, the potato is packed with a whole boatload of good vitamins and nutrients that do a body good. So, when it comes down to it, the potato is a pretty essential part of the diet that should never be ignored or disowned.

If one likes the carb boost a potato provides and one doesn’t want to carry raw potatoes out and about, one can keep a dehydrated potato (or rather, a bagful) around with him as a snack. The dehydrated potato can deliver all those good carbs and nutrients and do so in a convenient to carry manner.

A dehydrated potato may seem like an odd choice for a snack but it one tremendous step up from its salty and unhealthy cousin, the potato chip. Stay away from processed junk like that and be different. Go for a dehydrated potato instead!
