If gorillas truly had their way, they would gladly trade in the regular banana for an endless supply of dried, dehydrated bananas. Okay, maybe not. But human beings have really taken to the dried, dehydrated bananas that are sold as health snacks in stores all across North America.

And this is a good. Things such as dried, dehydrated bananas are a much better snack than the tons and tons of junk food out there that floods the shelves of stores. High sugar content and sodium are the epicenter of all the processed snack foods on store shelves and they really do harm the body. While not everyone has opted to cross over from junk food to healthier alternatives, a decent sane number of people have recognized the benefits of higher quality snacks and have made the adequate changes in diet.

Something like dried, dehydrated bananas may seem like an odd alternative to a Twix candy bar mainly because the banana snack is not as prevalent as the numerous junk food items out there, but banana is a popular flavoring in, ironically, a ton of junk foods, so it is not surprising that dried, dehydrated bananas rose to the top of the healthy snack alternative food pile.

But, banana taste is not enough. Banana cakes are not healthy, Banana ice cream certainly isn’t healthy. Real bananas, now they are healthy. But real fruit can spoil if not eaten quick enough.

So, by keeping dried, dehydrated bananas handy, there is a snack item that has quite a bit of shelf life and will not spoil. And it, ultimately, remains a real banana with all the benefits of the nutrients of the banana still inside of it.

Dried, dehydrated are a sensible snack alternative for kids and adults alike. Keep a good a supply of them on hand because they will run out fast!
